This page is here to help you choose the right tire cover the first time. Fit, sizing, and options matter. A few minutes here can save time later.
Step 1: Find Your Tire Size
Your tire size is printed on the sidewall of the tire. It will look something like:
35x12.50R17 or 275/70R18
You only need the overall tire size, not the vehicle model. Tire covers are sized by tire diameter, not by Jeep, Bronco, or SUV year or trim.
Be sure to utilize our tire size calculator to insure the right fit.
If you’re between sizes or unsure, contact us before ordering.
Step 2: Choose the Correct Cover Size
Match your tire size to the closest cover size listed on the product page or sizing guide.
A properly sized cover should:
-
Fit snugly over the tire
-
Not sag or wrinkle excessively
-
Stay secure once tightened
Ordering based on vehicle name alone can lead to incorrect fit. Always use the tire size.
Step 3: Backup Camera Compatibility
If your spare tire has a rear-facing backup camera, you’ll need a camera cutout option.
When ordering:
-
Select Camera Cutout Needed if your camera is mounted through the wheel
-
Select Standard Cover if you do not have a camera
Choosing the wrong option may affect usability once installed.
Step 4: Select a Design Type
You can choose from:
-
Standard Designs – Ready-made designs available on the site
-
Custom Designs – One-off or personalized designs made to order
If you have a logo, text, image, or specific idea, the custom design option is the best fit.
Step 5: Understand Made-to-Order Production
All TerrainTailor tire covers are made to order.
What this means:
-
Production begins after your order is placed
-
Custom orders begin after design approval
-
Processing times vary based on order and volume
Generally, production takes around 10 business days. Once your order is complete it will be shipped via USPS.
Step 6: Installation Basics
Installation is simple and does not require tools.
-
Slide the cover over the tire
-
Tighten the drawcord evenly
-
Ensure the cover is seated flat and secure
A snug fit helps the cover stay in place during travel.
Common Buying Mistakes to Avoid
-
Ordering based on vehicle model instead of tire size
-
Forgetting to select the backup camera option
-
Guessing between sizes instead of confirming
-
Submitting low-resolution artwork for custom designs
When in doubt, ask before ordering.
